The refurbishment works with a short palette and repeats it throughout, which is what makes four bedrooms and three bathrooms read as a single project. Striped wallpaper in the entrance hall, the living room and the fourth bedroom; walnut on the bathroom countertops, the bedside tables and the lit shelving; large-format veined porcelain in all three bathrooms and in the kitchen; plain mouldings painted the same tone as the wall.

Alcalde Sainz de Baranda marks the southern edge of the Ibiza neighbourhood, the one between the Retiro and Doctor Esquerdo. The park is a five-minute walk along the street itself; to the north, Ibiza, Menorca and Doctor Castelo are home to some of the busiest restaurants and bars in Madrid. Sainz de Baranda metro station, on lines 6 and 9, and Ibiza station are a few blocks away, and the Gregorio Marañón hospital is in the same neighbourhood.
