Around an oak table

The living area is a single space that holds the kitchen, the dining area and the living room, and what organises it is a white column standing in the middle of the plan. On one side is the table: a solid oak top on black iron legs, with six black chairs on wooden legs and, above it, two black wire pendants hung at different heights. On the other, the living room, with a blue-grey three-seater sofa and two nesting tables with grey tops.
The floor, an oak-effect laminate, runs uninterrupted from the door to the windows. Walls and ceilings are white, with recessed spotlights and air-conditioning grilles in the ceiling. The window frames are anthracite aluminium, with linen Roman blinds. This is a street-facing fourth floor: beyond the glass, the façades and rooftops of the neighbourhood.
The kitchen occupies one corner of the living area and is visible from the table. Handleless high-gloss white lacquered fronts; a grey worktop that turns in an L towards the sink, and large anthracite tiles behind the hob. Steel oven and microwave, an integrated extractor beneath the wall cabinets and a steel fridge-freezer on the opposite side.
At the end, three open shelves with three green ceramic cacti: the only ornament in a kitchen that prefers straight lines. From here the passage to the bedrooms begins.
The main bedroom has a double bed upholstered in grey-green, with a slightly angled headboard, two walnut-toned bedside tables on turned legs and two slim black reading lamps. To one side, the built-in wardrobe with white sliding doors. The window, with its linen blind, looks onto the building opposite.
The second is a single bedroom: a bed with a white storage base, a dark grey upholstered headboard and a white bedside table with a shaded lamp. Its window sits above the rooftops, framing a brick block against the sky. Two bathrooms complete the sleeping area: nobody waits their turn in the morning.

Moncloa is Madrid’s north-west gateway: the end of Calle de la Princesa, the Arco de la Victoria, the Faro and, behind them, the Ciudad Universitaria. The interchange brings together metro lines 3 and 6 and the buses that head out along the Carretera de La Coruña. On foot you reach the Parque del Oeste, with its rose garden, and the Argüelles neighbourhood, with its street-level shops.
