Wallpaper and pale wood
Two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, wallpaper and pale wood. A home to settle into for a good while in Salamanca.
You come in and the kitchen is on your left: matt grey L-shaped units, an oak worktop, a black marble floor and a low island that doubles as a bar, with two stools. Oven and microwave in a tall unit, an integrated extractor and a wood and stone sideboard that separates the kitchen from the dining area without closing it off.
The living room has a band of warm light concealed in the ceiling that runs around the whole perimeter and serves as the main lighting at night. A grey-green sofa, two round wooden coffee tables, a wool rug and wallpaper with a very fine geometric pattern. A large window onto the street, with a blind.
A short hallway, with the same cove lighting, leads to the two bedrooms and the two bathrooms. Oak floors throughout, except in the kitchen.
Both bedrooms have floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobes, a street-facing window and perimeter lighting. 150 cm beds with storage bases; the main bedroom also has its window onto the inner courtyard, and more quiet.
The bathrooms are the surprise of the house: one with grey coral wallpaper and a stone basin on a black vanity; the other with dark floral wallpaper and an oak vanity. Both with a walk-in tiled shower and glass screen.
The kitchen is the best-resolved room in the house. Matt grey fronts, an oak worktop and a black marble floor, with a low island that serves as a breakfast bar and as the boundary with the dining area. Above the solid wood table, a brass pendant with glass globes; beside it, a sideboard with green stone doors that is almost a gallery piece.
Fully equipped, with integrated oven, microwave and dishwasher, and with light from the living-room window reaching all the way to the worktop.
Two bedrooms of similar size, both with floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobes lacquered in pale grey, a 150 cm bed with storage base and perimeter lighting in the ceiling. The main bedroom looks onto an inner courtyard and is the quieter of the two; the second faces the street, with a blind and shutter.
The bathrooms follow the same spirit: one with coral wallpaper and a stone basin, the other with dark flowers and an oak vanity. Neither looks anything like a rental bathroom.
Lista is the part of the Salamanca district where people really live: a market, bakeries, schools, the Eva Perón park and the Lista and Diego de León metro stations a few minutes away. A building with a concierge on site and a lift, on a residential street.
