A sixty-second walk-through
White, oak and light. Renovated down to the last millimetre, furnished and ready for a few months in Salamanca.
The door opens and the first thing you see is a line of light in the ceiling that runs the whole length of the hallway to the far end of the home. White walls with mouldings, classic joinery doors painted the same white and a seamless stone-toned floor that carries on uninterrupted through every room. The home is understood at a glance: everything shared to the left, everything private at the back.

The kitchen opens onto the living room across an island with three upholstered stools. Flat sand-toned fronts, oak on the upper units, an extractor built into the ceiling and an integrated oven, microwave and fridge. Behind it, a service corridor with a separate utility room: washing machine and tumble dryer stacked in a column, a sink and cupboards up to the ceiling.
The main bedroom, with an upholstered headboard, a double bed and a burnt-orange bedspread that is the only strong colour in the home. The second, with two single beds and a built-in wardrobe with classic doors. The third, cosier, with a large bed and perimeter lighting in the ceiling. All three are street-facing and all three have roller shutters and blinds.
Between the main bedroom and its bathroom, an oak walk-in wardrobe with lit shelving and smoked-glass doors. It is the piece that turns a furnished apartment into a home you can truly live in: there is room to unpack your suitcases and forget about them.
Both bathrooms share the same language: travertine-effect porcelain on the walls, a wall-hung walnut vanity unit, a backlit mirror and black taps. One with a walk-in shower and glass screen, the other with a rain shower and a heated towel rail. There is also a guest WC near the entrance.
Three street-facing bedrooms, all with wardrobes, all furnished and dressed. The main bedroom has the walk-in wardrobe and the bathroom; the other two share the second bathroom and suit a family just as well as colleagues spending a few months in Madrid.
The beds are made, the soft furnishings in place and the wardrobes empty. It is the kind of home you arrive at with your suitcases and where, that very evening, you are already having dinner at the living-room table.

Castelló is one of those streets in the Salamanca district that run from Goya to Juan Bravo without making a sound: exposed-brick buildings, entrance halls with concierges, greengrocers and neighbourhood cafés. Ayala, Serrano and Velázquez are a step away; the Retiro is a ten-minute walk; and Lista and Núñez de Balboa metro stations are two minutes away.
For a stay of several months, it is exactly what you are looking for: living in the centre without feeling as though you are just passing through.
